해당 BrightStor ARCServe MSSQL 백업 에이전트는 버퍼 오버플로우 취약점에 취약한 것으로 나타난다. Computer Associates의 Microsoft Windows를 위한 BrightStor ARCserve 백업 9.01, 11, 그리고 r11.1 버전들, 그리고 Enterprise Backup 10.0 그리고 10.5 버전들은 6070과 6050 포트로 보내진 데이터에 대해 수행되는 부적절한 버퍼 길이 검사로 인하여 원격 스택 기반의 버퍼 오버플로우 취약점에 취약하다. 원격지의 공격자는 이 취약점을 도용하여 에이전트를 크래쉬 시키거나 버퍼를 오버플로우 시켜 SYSTEM 권한으로 임의의 코드를 실행할 수 있다.
