Detailed Description |
The host system's /etc/inittab file's permission or owner is unsafe. When you boot the system or change the run level with the init or shutdown command, the init daemon reads the information from the /etc/inittab file and starts the process. if this file is set maliciously, the system can be stopped

Recommendation |
Reset permissions of the file lower than 755 as the following # chmod 755 /etc/inittab
if the owner of the file is not root, change the owner # chown root /etc/inittab |
