| Detailed Description |
The mDNS service is running on the host. mDNS(multicast DNS), also known as ZeroConf or RendezVous, is a proposed way to perform DNS queries over IP Multicast. This service allows arbitrary users on the network to enumerate information about the remote host, such as the list of services it is running, its host name, its cpu type and more. A malicious attacker could use this information to perform a further attack.
* Note: This check solely relied on the presence of mDNS service and extract information about the remote host, if it's possible, so this might be a false positive.
* Affected Platforms: Microsoft Windows Any version Apple Computer, Inc., Mac OS Any version |
