| Detailed Description |
The perimeter routers are identified from a SNMP query for the host. Routers on the perimeter are the entry/exit points of your network. The highest level of care and priority should be assigned to securing these routers. Every perimeter routers behind the firewall potentially may circumvent the security perimeter, or be a unguarded entrance to the internal network.
* Note: This check requires a read access community string. To provide this access, add the community string to the 'SNMP set' Tab on the setting panel. |
| Recommendation |
Take additional precautions for the perimeter routers. For example you can implement a portion of your security or access control policy on those routers. Or If there are not authorized, they must be removed by your security policy. |
