| Detailed Description |
The '/scripts/fpcount.exe' file is installed.
Microsoft FrontPage 97 and 98 Server Extensions are vulnerable to a buffer overflow in the fpcount.exe utility , which is used to add Web hit counters to site content. By telling the fpcount CGI to generate a large amount of digits for display, a remote attacker can overflow a buffer while the program attempts to process the request, causing the Web server to crash or degrading the performance of the Web server. FrontPage 2000 Server Extentions are not affected by this vulnerability. |
