| Detailed Description |
The phpGroupWare is vulnerable to a HTML injection vulnerability in the index.php script. phpGroupWare (formerly known as webdistro), developed by Joseph Engo, is a multi-user groupware suite written in PHP. It provides a Web-based calendar, todo-list, addressbook, email, news headlines, and a file manager. phpGroupWare versions 0.9.16.003 and earlier are vulnerable to cross-site scripting in the preferences.php and index.php scripts. These issues could permit a remote attacker to create a malicious link to the vulnerable application that includes hostile HTML and script code. If this link were followed, the hostile code may be rendered in the web browser of the victim user. This would occur in the security context of the affected web site and may allow for theft of cookie-based authentication credentials or other attacks.
