Detailed Description |
The Snitz Forums 2000 is vulnerable to a cross-site scripting vulnerability in the search.asp script. Snitz Forums 2000 is ASP-based web forum software, developed by Snitz Communications. Snitz Forums 2000 version 3.4.03 and earlier versions are vulnerable to a cross-site scripting vulnerability, caused by improper validation of user-supplied input passed to the Search parameter of the search.asp script. This vulnerability could permit a remote attacker to create a malicious URI link that includes hostile HTML and script code. If this link were to be followed, the hostile code may be rendered in the web browser of the victim user. This would occur in the security context of the affected web site and may allow for theft of cookie-based authentication credentials or other attacks. In addition to this flaw, the password.asp script could allow a remote attacker to reset passwords and gain privileges as other users by via a direct request to password.asp with a modified member id.
