Detailed Description |
The relevant host is running a version of Squid caching proxy which is older than 2.6.STABLE17. Squid is a freely available Web Proxy server for Linux and Unix distributions. Squid Web Proxy Cache versions 2.x prior to 2.6.STABLE17 are vulnerable to a denial of service vulnerability, caused due to a boundary error within the processing of cache update replies. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to stop the affected application, thereby denying access to legitimate users.
