VID 26015
Severity 40
Port 139
Protocol TCP
Class SMB
Detailed Description The hotfix (Q277873) for the 'Webserver file request parsing' problem has not been applied.
The IIS Version 4.0 and 5.0 allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via a malformed request for an executable file whose name is appended with operating system commands, a.k.a. the "Web Server File Request Parsing" vulnerability.
When IIS receives a valid request for an executable file, it passes the name of the requested file to the underlying operating system for processing. However, due to an implementation flaw, it is possible to create a specially-malformed file request that contains both a file name and one or more operating system commands.

* Note: This check requires an account with Guest or upper privileges which can access the registry of the remote host to scan. Absence of these condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.

* Affected Software
Microsoft Internet Information Server 4.0, 5.0
