| Detailed Description |
The hotfix for 'Security Update for Microsoft Windows (840987)' has not been applied.
This security update resolves several newly-discovered, privately reported vulnerabilities. An attacker who successfully exploited the most severe of these vulnerabilities could take complete control of an affected system, including installing programs; viewing, changing, or deleting data; or creating new accounts that have full privileges. This update fixes issues in the following areas:
- Window Management Vulnerability (CAN-2004-0207): Elevation of Privilege
- Virtual DOS Machine Vulnerability (CAN-2004-0208): Elevation of Privilege
- Graphics Rendering Engine Vulnerability (CAN-2004-0209): Remote Code Execution
- Windows Kernel Vulnerability (CAN-2004-0211): Denial of Service
