| Detailed Description |
The Hotfix(KB873376) for 'Remote Code Execution Vulnerability in Compressed (zipped) Folders' has not been applied. This update resolves the remote code execution vulnerability in Windows processes Compressed (zipped) Folders, caused by improper bounds checking of specially crafted compressed files. By constructing a malicious compressed file and then persuading a user to open the file, a remote attacker could potentially execute code and take complete control of an target system.
* Note: This check requires an account with Guest or upper privileges which can access the registry of the remote host to scan. Absence of these condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
