| Detailed Description |
According to the result by a NetBIOS test, the Hotfix(KB841533) for 'Remote Code Execution Vulnerability in NetDDE' seems not to have been applied. This update resolves the remote code execution vulnerability, caused by improper bounds checking in the Network Dynamic Data Exchange (NetDDE) services that allow communication between applications over a network. By creating a specially crafted message and sending the message to the target system, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and gain complete control of the system or cause a denial of service. A local attacker that logs on to the system could gain elevated privileges on a system.
