| Detailed Description |
The Hotfix(KB888258) for 'Internet Content Spoofing Vulnerability in ISA Server 2000 and Proxy Server 2.0' has not been applied. Microsoft Proxy Server 2.0 or ISA(Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration) Server 2000 could enable an attacker to spoof trusted Internet content, caused by a flaw in the method that the affected software uses to cache reverse lookup results. By creating a specially-crafted web page and persuading the victim user to visit the web page, a remote attacker could spoof trusted Internet content. Users could believe they are accessing trusted Internet content when in reality they are accessing malicious Internet content, for example a malicious Web site.
* Note: This check requires an account with Guest or upper privileges which can access the registry of the remote host to scan. Absence of these condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
