| Detailed Description |
The hotfix (KB903235) for 'Remote Code Execution Vulnerability in Jview Profiler' has not been applied. Jview Profiler is a debugger interface for Microsoft Java Virtual Machine (MSJVM). Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 5.01 SP4, 6.0, 6.0 SP1, and 5.5 SP2 could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code, caused by heap-based buffer overflow in the JVIEW Profiler (Javaprxy.dll) COM object. This vulnerability exists in the way that the Microsoft Color Management Module handles ICC profile format tag validation. An attacker could exploit the vulnerability by constructing a specially-crafted HTML file that could potentially allow remote code execution if a user visited a malicious Web site or opened a malicious attachment that was provided in an e-mail message. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could take complete control of an affected system.
* Note: This check requires an account with Guest or upper privileges which can access the registry of the remote host to scan. Absence of these condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
