Detailed Description |
The hotfix (KB900725) for 'Multiple vulnerabilities in the Windows Shell' has not been applied. Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 are vulnerable to multiple vulnerabilities that allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code as follows:
1) Shell Vulnerability (CAN-2005-2122): Remote Code Execution 2) Shell Vulnerability (CAN-2005-2118): Remote Code Execution 3) Web View Script Injection Vulnerability (CAN-2005-2117): Remote Code Execution
* Note: This check requires an account with Guest or upper privileges which can access the registry of the remote host to scan. Absence of these condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
