Detailed Description |
The hotfix (KB902400) for 'Code Execution Vulnerabilities in MSDTC and COM+' seems not to have been applied. The Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MSDTC) is a distributed transaction facility for Microsoft Windows platforms, which supports Transaction Internet Protocol (TIP). COM+ is the next step in the evolution of the Microsoft Component Object Model and Microsoft Transaction Server (MTS). Microsoft Windows 2000 SP4, Windows XP SP2 and Windows Server 2003 SP1 are vulnerable to multiple vulnerabilities that can allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code as follows:
