Detailed Description |
The hotfix (KB913446) for 'Denial of Service Vulnerability in TCP/IP' has not been applied. Microsoft Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 are vulnerable to a denial of service attack, caused by improper handling of Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) packets. By sending a specially-crafted IGMPv3 packet to a vulnerable system, an unauthenticated, remote attacker could cause that system to stop responding.
* Note: This check requires an account with Guest or upper privileges which can access the registry of the remote host to scan. Absence of these condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
