Detailed Description |
The hotfix (KB913580) for 'Denial of Service Vulnerability in MSDTC' seems not to have been applied. Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003 are vulnerable to a denial of service attack, caused by a buffer overflow vulnerability in the Microsoft Distributed Transaction Service Coordinator (MSDTC) service. By sending a specially-crafted network message to an affected host, a remote attacker could cause the MSDTC service to stop responding.
