Detailed Description |
The hotfix (KB911280) for 'Vulnerability in Routing and Remote Access' has not been applied. Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003 are vulnerable to buffer overflow vulnerabilities in the Routing and Remote Access service (RRAS) and the Remote Access Connection Manager service (RASMAN). By sending a specially-crafted RPC related request, remote unauthenticated or authenticated attackers could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the affected host.
* Note: This check requires an account with Guest or upper privileges which can access the registry of the remote host to scan. Absence of these condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
