Detailed Description |
The hotfix (MS06-049, KB920958) for 'Vulnerability in Windows Kernel' has not been applied. Microsoft Windows 2000 could allow a local attacker to obtain elevated privileges, caused by a buffer overflow error in Microsoft Windows Kernel. A local attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code on the system with elevated privileges.
* Note: This check requires an account with Guest or upper privileges which can access the registry of the remote host to scan. Absence of these condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
