Detailed Description |
The hotfix (MS06-056, KB922770) for 'Information Disclosure Vulnerability in ASP.NET' has not been applied. Microsoft .NET framework 2.0 (ASP.NET) in Microsoft Windows 2000 SP4, XP SP1 and SP2, and Server 2003 up to SP1 are vulnerable to a cross-site scripting attack. If this link were to be followed, the hostile code may be rendered in the web browser of the victim user. This would occur in the security context of the affected web site and may allow for theft of cookie-based authentication credentials or other attacks.
* Note: This check requires an account with administrative privileges which can log into the host to scan. Absence of these condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
