VID 26240
Severity 40
Port 139,445
Protocol TCP
Class SMB
Detailed Description The hotfix (MS06-064, KB922819) for 'Denial of Service Vulnerabilities in TCP/IP IPv6' has not been applied. Microsoft Windows XP SP1 and SP2, and Server 2003 up to SP1 are vulnerable to a denial of service attack, caused by multiple vulnerabilities in the IPv6 Windows implementation of TCP as follows:

- ICMP Connection Reset Vulnerability (CVE-2004-0790)
- TCP Connection Reset Vulnerability (CVE-2004-0230)
- Spoofed Connection Request Vulnerability (CVE-2005-0688)

By sending a specially crafted ICMP or TCP packet to the affected host, a remote attacker could cause the host to drop an existing TCP connection or to stop responding.

* Note: This check requires an account with Guest or upper privileges which can access the registry of the remote host to scan. Absence of these condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
