Detailed Description |
The hotfix (MS07-019, KB931261) for 'Remote Code Execution Vulnerability in UPnP' has not been applied. Microsoft XP SP1 and SP2 could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the host, caused by a vulnerability in the http request handler in the Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) service. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code on the affected host with the service privileges.
* Note: This check requires an account with Guest or upper privileges which can access the registry of the remote host to scan. Absence of these condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
