Detailed Description |
The hotfix (936548) for 'Remote Code Execution Vulnerability in Microsoft Office Publisher 2007' has not been applied. Microsoft Publisher 2007 could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code via a malformed .pub page, caused by failing to clear memory when transferring data from disk to memory. By constructing a specially crafted Publisher (.pub) file, a remote attacker could potentially execute arbitrary code if a user visited a Web site or viewed a specially crafted e-mail message. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could take complete control of an affected system.
