Detailed Description |
The hotfix (MS07-038, KB935807) for 'Vulnerability in Windows Vista Firewall' has not been applied. Microsoft Teredo service is used by Microsoft Windows Vista, XP, and Server 2003 to allow clients with only IPv4 connectivity to obtain and use publicly routable IPv6 addresses. Microsoft Windows Vista could allow a remote attacker to obtain sensitive information, caused by a vulnerability in the Teredo interface. By sending unsolicited and unfiltered IPv6 traffic to a vulnerable system, a remote attacker could bypass firewall settings and obtain sensitive information about the system.
* Note: This check requires an account with administrative privileges which can log into the host to scan. Absence of these condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
