Detailed Description |
The hotfix (MS07-055, KB923810) for 'Remote Code Execution Vulnerability in Kodak Image Viewer' has not been applied. Microsoft Windows 2000 SP4, XP SP1 and SP2, and Server 2003 up to SP2 could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the affected host, caused by improper handling of images by the Windows Kodak image Viewer. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by constructing a specially-crafted image that could potentially allow remote code execution if a user visited a Web site, viewed a specially crafted e-mail message, or opened an e-mail attachment. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could take complete control of an affected system.
* Note: This check requires an account with Guest or upper privileges which can access the registry of the remote host to scan. Absence of these condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
