Detailed Description |
The hotfix (MS08-007, KB946026) for 'Remote Code Execution Vulnerability in WebDAV Mini-Redirector' has not been applied. Microsoft Windows XP SP2, Server 2003 SP1 and SP2, and Vista are vulnerable to a heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability, caused by a flaw in the WebDav Mini-Redirector handler. By sending a specially-crafted WebDAV response, a remote attacker could take the complete control of an affected system.
* Note: This check requires an account with Guest or upper privileges which can access the registry of the remote host to scan. Absence of these condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
