Severity 30
Port 139,445
Protocol TCP
Class SMB
Detailed Description The hotfix (MS08-021, KB948590) for 'Remote Code Execution Vulnerabilities in GDI' has not been applied. Microsoft Windows 2000 SP4, XP SP2, Server 2003 SP1 and SP2, Vista, and Server 2008 are vulnerable to multiple buffer overflow vulnerabilities, caused by improper bounds checking of EMF and WMF image files. By convincing a user to open a specially-crafted EMF or WMF image file, an attacker could exploit these vulnerabilities to execute arbitrary code on the affected system or to cause the system to stop responding.

* Note: This check requires an account with Guest or upper privileges which can access the registry of the remote host to scan. Absence of these condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
