Detailed Description |
The hotfix (MS08-030, KB951376) for 'Remote Code Execution Vulnerability in Bluetooth Stack' has not been applied. Microsoft Windows XP SP2 and SP3, and Vista Gold and SP1 could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system, caused due to an error in the Bluetooth stack when processing service description requests. By rapidly sending a large number of specially-crafted SDP (Service Discovery Protocol) packets to a vulnerable system with Bluetooth capability, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code on the system with elevated privileges.
* Note: This check requires an account with Guest or upper privileges which can access the registry of the remote host to scan. Absence of these condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
