Detailed Description |
The hotfix (MS08-032, KB950760) for 'Cumulative Security Update of ActiveX Kill Bits' has not been applied. Microsoft Windows is vulnerable to a remote code execution vulnerability in the Speech Components sapi.dll ActiveX control when the Speech Recognition feature is enabled. If an attacker could trick a user on the affected host into visiting a specially-crafted web page, he could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code on the host with elevated privileges.
* Note: This check requires an account with Guest or upper privileges which can access the registry of the remote host to scan. Absence of these condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
