Detailed Description |
The hotfix (MS08-049, KB950974) for 'Remote Code Execution Vulnerabilities in Event System' has not been applied. Microsoft Event System could allow a remote authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system, caused by the improper handling of per-user subscriptions and improper validation of the range of indexes. An attacker who successfully exploited these vulnerabilities could take complete control of an affected system.
* Note: This check requires an account with Guest or upper privileges which can access the registry of the remote host to scan. Absence of these condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
