Detailed Description |
The Hotfix (MS08-067, 958644) for 'Remote Code Execution Vulnerabilities in Microsoft Windows Server Service Crafted RPC Request Handling Unspecified ' has not been applied.
Arbitrary code can be executed on the remote host due to a flaw in the 'server' service. The remote host is vulnerable to a buffer overrun in the 'Server' service which may allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code on the remote host with the 'System' privileges
* Note: This check requires an account with Guest or upper privileges which can access the registry of the remote host to scan. Absence of these condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
