Detailed Description The Hotfix (975682) for 'Windows Media Runtime Remote Code Execution Vulnerabilities' has not been applied. A remote code execution vulnerability exists in Windows Media Player due to the improper processing of specially crafted Advanced Systems Format (ASF) files. And a remote code execution vulnerability exists in the way that Microsoft Windows Media Runtime handles certain functions in compressed audio files. These vulnerabilities could allow remote code execution if a user opened a specially crafted file specially crafted files. If a user is logged on with administrative user rights, an attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could take complete control of an affected system. An attacker could then install programs; view, change, or delete data; or create new accounts with full user rights. Users whose accounts are configured to have fewer user rights on the system could be less impacted than users who operate with administrative user rights.

* Note: This check requires an account with administrative privileges which can log into the host to scan. Absence of this condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
