Detailed Description |
The Hotfix (969059) for 'Vulnerabilities in Indexing Service Could Allow Remote Code Execution' has not been applied.
The remote host contains the ixsso.dll ActiveX control. This control is included with the Indexing Service. The version of this control installed on the remote host reportedly has an arbitrary code execution vulnerability. A remote attacker could exploit this by tricking a user into requesting a maliciously crafted web page. This vulnerability only affects systems that have the Indexing Service enabled. It is disabled by default.
* Note: This check requires an account with administrative privileges which can log into the host to scan. Absence of this condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
