Detailed Description The Hotfix (MS10-027, 979402) for the Apr. 2010 'Vulnerability in Windows Media Player Could Allow Remote Code Execution' has not been applied. This patch replaces the one that is provided in Microsoft Security Bulletin (MS07-047/936782). But only Microsoft Windows2000 SP4, WindowsXP SP2 use Windows Media Player 9 Series. This security update is rated Critical for Windows Media Player 9 Series when installed on all supported editions of Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

A remote attacker could exploit this by tricking a user into requesting a maliciously crafted web page, resulting in arbitrary code execution.

* Note: This check requires an account with Guest or upper privileges which can access the registry of the remote host to scan. Absence of these condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
