Detailed Description |
The hotfix (MS11-030, 2509553) for 'Vulnerability in DNS Resolution Could Allow Remote Code Execution' has not been applied. A remote code execution vulnerability exists in the way that the DNS client service handles specially crafted LLMNR queries. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could run arbitrary code in the context of the NetworkService account. An attacker could then install programs; view, change, or delete data; or create new accounts with full user rights.
* Note: This check requires an account with administrative privileges which can log into the host to scan. Absence of these condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
