Detailed Description |
The Hotfix (MS16-030, 3143136) for 'Security Update for Windows OLE to Address Remote Code Execution' has not been applied. This security update resolves vulnerabilities in Microsoft Windows. The vulnerabilities could allow remote code execution if Windows OLE fails to properly validate user input. An attacker could exploit the vulnerabilities to execute malicious code. However, an attacker must first convince a user to open either a specially crafted file or a program from either a webpage or an email message.
Multiple Windows OLE Memory Remote Code Execution Vulnerabilities Multiple remote code execution vulnerabilities exist when Microsoft Windows OLE fails to properly validate user input. An attacker could use the vulnerabilities to execute malicious code.
* Note: This check requires an account with administrative privileges which can log into the host to scan. Absence of this condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
