Detailed Description |
The Hotfix (MS16-097, 3177393) for 'Security Update for Microsoft Graphics Component' has not been applied.
This security update resolves vulnerabilities in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Skype for Business, and Microsoft Lync. The vulnerabilities could allow remote code execution if a user either visits a specially crafted website or opens a specially crafted document. Users whose accounts are configured to have fewer user rights on the system could be less impacted than users who operate with administrative user rights.
Multiple Windows Graphics Component RCE Vulnerabilities Multiple remote code execution vulnerabilities exist when the Windows font library improperly handles specially crafted embedded fonts. An attacker who successfully exploited the vulnerabilities could take control of the affected system. An attacker could then install programs; view, change, or delete data; or create new accounts with full user rights. Users whose accounts are configured to have fewer user rights on the system could be less impacted than users who operate with administrative user rights.
* Note: This check requires an account with administrative privileges which can log into the host to scan. Absence of this condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
