| Detailed Description |
The Opera on the host, according to its version number, has a heap overflow vulnerability via 'HREF' tag. Opera is a Web browser, developed by Opera Software, for multiple operating systems. Opera versions 7.11 and 7.20 is vulnerable to a heap overflow, caused by improper handling of escape characters in 'HREF' tags. An attacker could create a malicious Web page containing an 'HREF' tag with multiple escape (%) characters following the server name and exploit this vulnerability by hosting it on a Web site or by sending it to a victim as an HTML email. If successfully exploited, a remote attacker could cause the Web browser to crash or execute arbitrary code on a victim's host.
* Note: This check requires an account with administrative privileges which can log into the host to scan. Absence of these condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
