The McAfee AntiVirus program is installed on the system, but it is not running or the virus definitions are out-dated. The McAfee AntiVirus program, provided by Network Associates Technology Inc., is a popular anti-virus solution that protects the system from various virus threats. To prepare properly for the permeation of the virus that appears continuously, this program should be updated to the latest version and be always running. Therefore, you should make sure this program is running and using the latest updated version.
* Note: This check requires an account with Guest or upper privileges which can access the registry of the remote host to scan. Absence of these condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts. It checks whether the Norton AntiVirus program is running now and has been updated in latest a week (14 day) from the current date by default.
