| Detailed Description |
The Hotfix(KB886836) for 'Remote Code Execution Vulnerability in Microsoft Excel' has not been applied. This update resolves the remote code execution vulnerability, caused by the Microsoft Excel to incorrectly validates parameters when it opens an Excel file. By creating a malicious Excel file and then persuading a user to click a link to the file, a remote attacker could execute arbitrary code and take complete control of the target system.
* Note: This check requires an account with administrative privileges which can log into the host to scan. Absence of these condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
