| Detailed Description |
The installed version of Wireshark is 1.2.x less than 1.2.18. Such versions are affected by the following vulnerabilities :
The installed version of Wireshark 1.2.x is earlier than 1.2.18 and thus is potentially affected by a denial of service vulnerability due to an error in the Lucent / Ascend file parser that can be exploited by specially crafted packets to cause high CPU usage.
* Note: This check requires an account with administrative privileges which can log into the host to scan. Absence of this condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
