Detailed Description |
The version of Wireshark installed on the remote Windows host is 2.2.x prior to 2.2.11. It is, therefore, affected by a denial of service vulnerability in the IWARP_MPA, NetBIOS, and CIP Safety dissectors. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this by injecting a malformed packet onto the wire or by convincing someone to read a malformed packet trace file.
* Note: This check requires an account with administrative privileges which can log into the host to scan. Absence of this condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
