Detailed Description |
The version of Wireshark installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 3.2.13. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the wireshark-3.2.13 advisory.
- The MS-WSP dissector could consume excessive amounts of memory. It may be possible to make Wireshark consume excessive CPU resources by injecting a malformed packet onto the wire or by convincing someone to read a malformed packet trace file. (CVE-2021-22207)
* Note: This check requires an account with administrative privileges which can log into the host to scan. Absence of this condition will result in the check not being performed and a False Negative for all vulnerable hosts.
